Freelance journalist
Thanks for stopping by! I’m Mia Sahl, a freelance journalist with over 20 years of experience in Swedish media. I’ve worked as a reporter, researcher, and editor, driven by a commitment to journalistic integrity and impactful storytelling. My professional roots are in print, but I have always been interested in the ways that technology is reshaping the world of journalism. My main focus right now is bridging journalism with technology, providing practical training in areas like fact checking, editorial workflow, journalistic research and data-driven storytelling. My goal is to empower journalists with skills and tools to help them uphold accuracy, transparency, and trust.
Training journalists in northern Europe
As a Google News Initiative Teaching Fellow, I’ve been training journalists and journalism students across the Nordics, Belgium, and the Netherlands since 2022. I specialize in digital tools for research, fact-checking, and content verification, helping media professionals adapt to the challenges of today’s fast-paced digital landscape.
